Despite the fact that we all live in a world crammed full of people, with a countless number of opportunities to interact and engage with others in person or online, many of us still suffer from feelings of disconnection. Defined as ‘a feeling of isolation or detachment’, this month’s series looks into vital ways of understanding and overcoming these social emotional issues we all face from time to time. This week we encourage you to take yourself outside of your typical space… literally! When you remain stuck in a closed-loop cycle, constantly seeing the same people, in the same place and at the same time, the walls around can begin to feel like they are closing in. By giving yourself time to get out in the open air, you are not only opening yourself up to meet new people, but you are able to widen your horizons and appreciate the expansive landscape we are all lucky to share. Spending just 30 minutes out in nature will help build a sense of shared responsibility with others to look after this place we all call home!
