SUSTAINABILITY

On a social level, we have always prioritised producing in Europe and knowing as much about the people and processes involved in the supply chain of our clothing as possible. By working with a handful of family-run manufacturers in Turkey, we have been able to ensure all of our suppliers share our standards for positive practices; good living wages, safe working conditions, fair working hours and a voice for the working people. Our manufacturers are all part of the SEDEX and SMETA groups, continually working to improve conditions and their supply chain.
From an environmental standpoint, we have put in place a number of measures to monitor and continually develop our processes to minimise any impact we have on the planet. Some of the main ways are:
- Using only environmentally friendly botanical fabrics such as Organic Cotton, Bamboo, TENCEL, Hemp and Eucalyptus .
- Tracking our environmental impact using real-time Impact Analysis data that compares our practices against conventional manufacturing processes across the industry.
- Using packaging made from recycled paper sourced from FSC certified forests, promoting positive forestation and sustainable management.
- Working with a handful of trusted and likeminded manufacturers that share our passion for environmentally conscious practices.
- Never wasting any items. Even if our style moves on and stock still remains we will include the items in our OUTLET area at reduced prices.
- Ensuring all of our products are certified as carbon neutral products, meaning any impact made on the planet throughout manufacturing is offset in pro-environmental projects.
Our motto is ‘Keep People at Heart and Planet in Mind’ in everything we do. From the farmers that source our materials to the customers that wear our clothes, we recognise, respect and support the need for more sustainable and ethical practices throughout the fashion industry.

Yes, we pride ourselves in only working with a handful of like-minded manufacturers who share our passion for quality clothing but also our concerns for the environment. By opting to only use natural fibres in our fabrics, we are able to commit to significantly lower levels of CO₂ emissions and water consumption compared to conventional methods. Our manufacturers also use techniques and equipment using the latest technology to reduce waste in each stage of the manufacturing process. Finally, we commit to solely using organic certified dyes for all of our fabrics. This ensures our workers are not exposed to harmful chemicals and none of those dirty chemicals end up in our waste or waterways.

Carbon neutrality refers to achieving net-zero carbon dioxide emissions. This can be done by balancing emissions of carbon dioxide with its removal (often through carbon offsetting).
This refers to the environmentally responsible closed-loop process involved in the creation of the fibre, TENCEL. It describes how the solvent-spinning process used to transform wood pulp into soft cellulose fibres recovers and recycles 99% of the water and solvents used in the process. The result is a low impact fibre that is produced efficiently with minimal waste.
All of our packaging is made from recycled paper sourced from FSC certified forests, promoting positive forestation and sustainable management. All packaging can be reused, recycled and is easily biodegradable when it nears it’s life’s end. Importantly, from manufacturer to consumer we have, and never will use plastic in any of our packaging.

To accurately measure and monitor our true environmental impact we partnered with GreenStory Inc. Providing real-time and in-depth Impact Analysis data, GreenStory has indexed our entire manufacturing process; comparing the impact of our practices to conventional methods across the industry. This way, from seed to shelf, we are able to observe the tangible difference we are making in changing the face of the fashion industry for the better.
Our OUTLET area is designed to house old favourites that have appeared throughout our journey as a company. Rather than a discount area, we consider the OUTLET items as timeless classics that remind us, and our customers, of how the brand has developed over the years. We are proud of every item that goes through manufacturing and refuse to waste any products no matter when they were produced.
We acknowledge that our style and yours will change however, and the quality/innovation of our products will improve over time. Therefore, we offer these items at a reduced price than their original retail value.
Positive Outlook Clothing’s long-term vision of sustainability is to become a ‘zero negative impact’ company. This means, throughout our production processes, Positive Outlook clothing wants to be a company that not only aims to produce zero waste, but rather has zero negative impact in terms of environmental damages or greenhouse emissions. We have bold ambitions to help change the face of the fashion industry, removing the need for carbon offsetting by eliminating our negative impact in its entirety.
We have already helped to ensure our manufacturers operate using solely renewable energy through the installation of a solar farm. Feeding their excess energy into the local community’s grid, it is projects like this that will help us achieve our sustainability goals.
Additionally, sustainability goes beyond just the eco-impact of our manufacturing practices. We want to be known as a company that prioritises the people involved at each and every stage, and to have a positive impact on society by generating awareness of how to lead a happier, healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.
